See that hat? Fair isle skulls. My own design, sort of. I knocked it out last weekend, and I was sad that I wouldn’t have the opportunity to wear it for six months — though there might have been a moment when I schemed to sneak into the ice cream freezer at the supermarket.
And then, because this is New Mexico, the land where weather goes wild, it started raining on Wednesday night and didn’t really stop until this evening around eight. And with the rain (and the occasional snow flurry, no I’m not making that up) came the cool temperatures (hello, I did mention snow) and my excuse to get down with the new cap.
Oddly enough, the first wearing in the wild didn’t garner that much attention. I figured my colleagues were just jaded — oh, she’s got another hand knit hat. Someone give her a cookie — but then, at the end of the work day, one of my co-workers said t was an awesome hat and then asked if I was going to try copying it.
Yeah, that felt good.

Ah-HA! I always thought it was Adam who was controlling the weather, but now I’m on to you! You and your knitting needles stitching together storm fronts for your own amusement…
